Tulane URBANbuild homeowner video
A home built through the URBANbuild program within the School of Architecture at Tulane University is currently the centerpiece of a video being used by the university’s admissions office. It is one of a number of LEED-certified affordable homes that architecture students, under the leadership of Professor Byron Mouton, have designed and built in recent years. (The work was previously the subject of a film series on the Sundance Channel, called “Architecture School.”)
The home featured, known as “URBANbuild 04,” is located in Central City, a New Orleans neighborhood comprised mostly of traditional shotgun homes. It was built in conjunction with Neighborhood Housing Services, and is now proudly owned by a woman, named Tami, who explains her love of the house in the video above.
